Businesses use a wide variety of commission models. Some pay commission on the Gross sales (total investment), some pay it on profit, and some have sliding scales that are dependent on consultant performance. And some contractors pay the commission on the actual costs of the job, as opposed to the estimated costs in the proposal.

OnCall Air does not attempt to solve all of these commission models.

Instead, we give you a way to mark up your pricing so that it allocates enough dollars to pay out a commission, depending on your approach.

Since the commission percentage does not show up on the homeowner's proposal, the percentage can also be used if you need to add any additional percentages to the overall cost of the job (Ex. 'Overhead Percentage').

How to edit commission tiers:

  1. Navigate to Office >> Pricing Engine >> Commission Markup

  2. Click on Manage Tiers

  3. Create a Tier Label that will make it easier to identify this specific commission, like "Junior Technician Commission".

  4. Enter the desired Commission Markup value

  5. Check the Margin equivalent, calculated automatically above the Markup value

  6. Adjust the Markup value accordingly to get to the right Margin
