When would I use a Negative Value?

There may be some situations where you want to discount the price of a proposal behind the scenes so the discount price does not show up on the homeowner's proposal. In these situations, you can create customized Installation Items that include negative values. When selected, these negative values will be applied to bring down the price of the proposal.

Another instance where you may want to use Negative Value Installation items is to adjust the price for higher tonnages. For example, let's say I set my gross margin at 35%. That 35% is applied to all the equipment that I sell. However, when I sell a higher tonnage piece of equipment, the price may be too high. I can create a Negative Value Installation Item for that specific system type to lower the price to your liking.

How to create pre-defined Negative Value Installation Items?

  • In the App go to the Office

  • Click on the Installation Items tab on the left side of the screen

  • Click Create Item

  • Enter the Product name

  • Select "optional" for Type followed by the desired Category and System Type(s)

  • In the Price section, type your desired negative value (ex. -400.00)

  • Click Save

  • During a Consultation, you can then find the new negative installation item in the Installation tab to apply it to any desired proposal

  • To create a negative installation item on the job, click Add Custom Item and type in the negative value desired
