How do I sort installation items?

Installation items can be a great way to build value and separate your proposals from the competition. You can use installation items to tell your story and explain all the additional tasks your company is going to provide. Some dealers refer to the installation items as the "scope of work". Installation items do not have pictures and just show up as a line item on a customer's proposal.

In order to tell your story in a way that makes sense to the customer, you will want to control the order that the installation items appear.

How to Control the Display Order of Installation Items

OnCall Air sorts the installation items on a presented proposal Alphanumerically.
So when creating your installation items, (Click Here to Learn How), you can easily create the order you want them displayed in.

Lets do an example.

Lets say we want to portray to the customer that:
 - First we will  disconnect and remove their old equipment

-  Next we will install new equipment

-  Finally we will connect all necessary power and wiring to the new equipment

Here is how I would set this up when creating my installation items so they appear in the order I desire:

So A001 shows up first, A002 is second, A003 is third.

If I need to add any additional items I can easily create them as Custom Installation Items (Click Here to Learn How) and put them in the order I desire.

You can only include Installation Items in a proposal. You are unable to recommend them like you can for accessories.

If you would like to recommend Installation items, you can create a Flexjob. 'Recommending' means putting the items in front of the customer without impacting the proposals' total price.

In other words, you will provide your expert recommendations, but leave the shopping power in consumers' hands. If the homeowner wants they will add the recommended item to the proposal before accepting it. If not - at least you know you did all you could to provide them with all possible options.

Remember, you have the option to build out a test proposal to see how it looks before presenting to the customer. Test proposals will not count against your monthly subscription.
