Scenario
You are quoting a large, 3-system residential HVAC replacement job with dedicated upstairs, downstairs, and basement systems.
You'd like to recommend to the customer an upgrade of a whole-home air purifier in each of the three systems.
We'll use FlexJob to create a 3-system air purifier job containing connected products, and then recommend it when building the proposal.
Develop your Strategy
First, decide how many of these FlexJobs you'll want to create. If you encounter 2-system and 3-system quotes with some frequency, then focus on creating those.
You may also want to create a variety of offers, perhaps a deluxe version with a more expensive air purifier model, and a standard version. This way you can offer your customer some choices for the recommendations.
Once you've designed your strategy, you can begin to create your first FlexJob.
Setup the FlexJob
Note: you can reference the Starter Catalog FlexJob Code OCA-0018 to save some time. But remember to include the products as the Starter Catalog does not include any products.
As an admin, you'll create a FlexJob as follows:
Go to the Office -> FlexJobs menu
Click 'Create FlexJob' button to begin
Now, create the FlexJob:
Categorize it so it's easy to find: Indoor Air Quality -> Air Purifiers.
Give it a customer-friendly name, e.g., "Air Ninjas Three System Central Air Purifier Deluxe Package"
Write the Description and Features in a way that your customer will understand, and emphasize the unique work and qualifications that you and your team have to do this installation.
Attach a hero image. The hero image can be a version of the product that you obtained from your supplier, or it can be a more general example of an air quality.
Include the Air Purifier product, and then make sure you click to add a quantity of 3. This will make sure your cost is pulled in automatically.
Add relevant Installation Items. These customizable line items will tailor the job even further, and are more of a chance for you to build value for your services.
Add Notes for your team, which will be visible in the Inspector for your admin and/or technicians
Get the Pricing right, by estimating the labor required for a three-system installation, as well as pricing out the material required separate from the products. Admins can input a Price Override if needed to retain the specific price that they set on an Installation Item or Product.
Quote -- and win -- the Job
Once the FlexJob is in your catalog, your team can build the replacement HVAC quote, and then choose to Recommend the appropriate Flexjob in the Proposals section:
Build the Quote and go to Proposals
Add your offers for the Replacement system
Then go to the FlexJob tab and search for "Air Purifier"
Once you find the above job, you can click on "Recommend All" to recommend it on all options in the quote.
And if the job requires a bit of extra work or material, you can Customize it before you recommend it to account for the extra labor and/or material costs.
