Scenario

There may be situations where you will want to show your customer a side-by-side comparison that includes both a repair and also a full replacement.

In this case, let's imagine that you can either (a) charge the customer's system with refrigerant, (b) do a leak detection and repair job, or (c) present a few replacement proposals with financing included.

Develop your Strategy

In this case, your repair options are built ahead of time. Your strategy is primarily about training your team to identify scenarios where the "repair-vs-replace" option makes sense for your customers.

The important aspect of this recipe is to work with your consultants to understand how a traditional HVAC replacement option can be combined with a FlexJob to also offer repair service as an option.

Once you've designed your strategy, you can begin to create your first FlexJob.

Setup the FlexJob

Note: you can reference the Starter Catalog FlexJob Code OCA-8901 "Diagnose and Detect Leaking HVAC Line" and OCA-9010 "Recharge system with Refrigerant" to save some time.

As an admin, you'll create a unique FlexJob for charging the system with Refrigerant, and another job for Detecting a Leak.

These should be created to emphasize the unique work and capabilities of your company and also be kept simple enough that they can apply to a wider range of situations. Remember, you can always Customize these 'on the fly,' if needed.

The key to this recipe is using these jobs properly when building a "repair-vs-replace" proposal for your customer.

Quote -- and win -- the Job

Your team can build options to show your customer in the Proposals section of the App:

  1. Build the Quote and go to the Proposals tab

  2. Go to FlexJob, and for Option A Include the job to Recharge the system

  3. For Option B, find and include the option to Diagnose the Leak

  4. And for Options C and D, including options to replace the system from the Bundles section of your app.

At this point, you have 4 options that include both service and replacement. Of course, you can make any necessary Customizations to your services as needed. You can also make recommendations on all of these options to add even more value for you and for your customers!
