FlexJob makes it easy to use the power of OnCall to quote a simple repair job, AND to add value to that job by showing your customer multiple recommendations.
This can help you drive follow-on sales, and also increase the visibility of your brand.
Develop your Strategy
Even though a repair job may be simple, it's important to describe the unique aspects of the job so that your customer sees the unique value in your service.
Setup the FlexJob
Note: you can reference the Starter Catalog FlexJob Code OCA-1200 "HVAC System Electrical Repair" to save some time.
As an admin, you'll create a unique FlexJob for the installation of a Packaged Rooftop Unit. The key FlexJob Components should be:
Give a descriptive (but generic) name to the FlexJob, that ideally includes your company brand, e.g., "HVAC Electrical System Repair". Leaving the name more generic gives you more flexibility to use this job in multiple, related scenarios.
Categorize the FlexJob: HVAC Service & Repair -> Electronics (remember that the categories can be viewed here)
Write the Description and Features in a way that your customer will understand, and emphasize the unique work and qualifications that you and your team have to do this installation.
Attach a hero image. The hero image can be generic, and just serves as an illustration.
It's not absolutely necessary to include Products in this FlexJob, as this keeps the FlexJob generic and can be used for a variety of similar jobs. As an alternative to including a product, you can simply include a material cost that reflects the typical or "worst-case" cost for an electrical component.
Make sure to add any and all relevant Installation Items. These customizable line items will tailor the job even further, and are more of a chance for you to build up the unique attributes of the service you're offering.
You can also create a variety of jobs for different tiers of complexity: for example, Tier 1 jobs might have a lower material and labor cost compared to your Tier 3 jobs.
Quote -- and win -- the Job
Your team can now quote the repair job, and also include several repair jobs.
In fact, you could remotely quote the job from your home office while the tech is on the job. This can be a viable option so that your technician focuses on the job while your office focuses on the business side of the job.
If the job requires some additional work, it can still be customized on the fly to account for additional labor costs and materials.
