Once you add or change a quantity of a product, the FlexJob will automatically reprice based on the Cost of the Installation Item and apply the pricing rules for FlexJobs.
Please note that the retail price for the Installation Item is ignored when included in a FlexJob. Instead, the FlexJob will use the Cost of the Product or Installation Item to calculate the resulting price based on the entire FlexJob.
For example, if you added an Installation Item and left the cost as 0, the FlexJob will not change its price.
FlexJobs that have a Total Price override in the office, once customized, will recalculate the new price and ignore the override.
FlexJobs that have a Total Price override in the office, once customized, will recalculate the new price by adding or removing product or installation items' prices.
It will just add or subtract from the Override Price.
When you override a Price of an Original FlexJob in the office, we calculate an Adjustment Amount. This amount = Overridden Price - Calculated Price.
E.g.
Calculated Price = $5,220.01, you want the item to sell for $5,000.00 >> your Adjustment Amount = 5,000.00 - 5,220.01 = -220.01
Now, let’s imagine you are Customizing this FlexJob with additional Material = $100 and 2 Labor Hours at a rate of 100/h.
When you add Material and Labor they will show up in the Customization section of the Inspector. We take the cost of added Material, the cost of added Labor and apply the margin from the pricing strategy.
With an additional $100 in Material and $200 in Labor and a margin of 30% the customization impact is an additional $428.57 (as in 300/(1-30/100)).
Here is how it will look in the admin Inspector:
How about Products and Installation Items?
In a similar way, when you add or remove the products or items, the FlexJob Price will be calculated the same way it does with the rest of the customization but will also have the Adjustment Amount applied.
Product Price + Installation Items Price + (Total Labor Cost*margin) + (Total Material Cost*margin)
Product Price + Installation Items Price + (Total Labor Cost*margin) + (Total Material Cost*margin) - Adjustment Amount
Since we are not changing the Overridden Price, but simply adding or removing pricing impact, the Adjustment Amount is going to stay the same as the one calculated in the office on the original FlexJob.
And keep in mind that you can always override the final price of any proposal before presenting.
